Annual Prize Giving 2023

Burhani Serendib School’s annual prize-giving ceremony stands as a prestigious occasion, dedicated to honoring, recognizing, and rewarding the outstanding achievements of our school’s brightest talents throughout the academic year. This year’s event held a unique and significant place in our hearts as we celebrated our Ruby Jubilee, under the theme ‘Celebration of being you.’

The ceremony was adorned with three captivating plays, each imparting invaluable life lessons. The senior play served as a poignant reminder, urging us to remain true to ourselves and refrain from exploiting others. In the intermediate category, our students presented a skit, emphasizing that genuine leadership demands a profound understanding of one’s field and continuous self-cultivation. Finally, our junior students skillfully portrayed the concept of ‘discovering treasure within oneself,’ symbolizing the exploration and expression of our inner qualities to the wider world.

At Burhani Serendib School, we firmly uphold the belief that every child possesses unique abilities that make them shine like stars. Our students had the golden opportunity to proudly display their exceptional talents through various competitions, including the Inter-House Lisan-ud-dawat Competition, where Najmi House emerged as the victor. Similarly, in the Inter-House Madeh Competition, Najmi House claimed victory in the boys’ category, while Saifee House secured the throne in the girls’ category.

The climax of the ceremony was a heartfelt recitation of an enchanting Madeh, inspired by the cherished words of our beloved Aqa Moula’s phrase, ‘Alhumdulillah Shukranlillah.’ This expression beautifully encapsulated the profound gratitude shared by all who are privileged to be a part of our school community, providing a touching and poignant conclusion to this unforgettable event.
