A Rejoice of Cultures by ICBSS

Date: 16th July 2017

Description: Rejoice of Cultures was an Eid Celebration at the Qutbi Hall premises in lieu of the end of Ramazan. The event began at 12:30 pm and went on till 4:30pm. The agenda for the day consisted of several inspiring speeches and a keynote address by Mr. Yusuf Shakirhussain. Teams of 6-8 members participated in several exciting activities during the course of the day which enlivened the guests.

Objectives: The event was organized with the purpose of promoting understanding of different cultural practices between communities in order to facilitate peaceful co-existence between members of different cultural or religious groups in the country with a special focus on Muslim practices, in particular the Eid festival.

Planning for the event began in the month of June. The main sponsor for the event was the Academy of Design (AOD) in Colombo.
