75th Independence Day and School’s Birthday Celebration

In life – one must learn to stop and smell the roses… They don’t bloom everyday.

In light of the school’s 40th birthday, and Sri Lanka’s Independence Day, Burhani Serendib school held a grand celebration on the 3rd of February to commemorate our Ruby Jubilee and 75 years of Independence from British rule.

The day started off with a flag hoisting before proceedings moved to the assembly hall where the students, parents and past pupils were treated to an emotional recap of the past year.
From the winners of the qirat Competition taking to stage once more, the winners of the madeh competition finding their voice once again- and the headprefects for the year presenting their emotional recap of the year just gone.

The day was a perfect reminder of how far we’ve come, and how far we have to go.
