ANNUAL SPORTSMEET 2018
The much anticipated Annual Sportsmeet for the year 2018 was held on the 15th of December 2018 with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere.
It commenced with the lighting of the Olympic torch by the games captain and the respective house captains.
An enlightening speech on the importance of physical training and sports, and how it plays a major role in the day-to-day
discipline of one’s self by the Chief Guest,Miss Deshbandu Thilaka Jinadasa, who is the first female Olympian in SL.
The highlights of the day were:
- An energetic karate performance
- A delightful and entertaining obstacle race by preschool
- Relays and tug of war where the true spirit of sportsmanship was witnessed on participants
- Parents, Past Pupils and Staff race.
Overall, it was a definite success with a compelling atmosphere filled by the ceaseless cheering from houses as well as the parents.This annual meet was concluded with the March past and declaring of the years emerging champions- Saifee House followed
by Najmi House who were the runners up.
